Hi, I'm Kat — flight attendant turned pet flight nanny, and the proud mom of a husky named Lulu, an Australian Shepherd named Liko, and a Greek tortoise named Franklin (yes, he rules the house).

How It All Started

My love for animals came long before my love for flying — but when I combined the two, everything clicked. I spent years as a flight attendant, learning the ins and outs of air travel, airline operations, and how to keep everyone calm at 39,000 feet. On the ground, I built my career caring for dogs as a professional pet caretaker, building relationships with animals and the families who love them.

One day it hit me: so many people needed to get their pets across the country but hated the idea of putting them in cargo like a piece of luggage. I knew I could do better. I had the flight experience, the animal instinct, and — most importantly — the heart for it. Paws in the Cabin was born.

I'm not a shipping company. I'm the person sitting in seat 14B with your fur baby on my lap, sending you photos mid-flight. I've spent thousands of hours in the air and thousands more earning the trust of animals who were nervous, scared, or just needed someone to sit on the floor with them until they felt safe. That's what I do.

Every pet I fly with gets the same care I give Lulu, Liko, and Franklin — which means constant attention, endless patience, and probably a few too many treats.

Getting a pet to Hawaii isn't as simple as booking a flight — the state has some of the strictest animal entry requirements in the country, including rabies documentation, microchip verification, blood tests, and a mandatory quarantine process that can be avoided only if every detail is handled correctly. With hands-on experience transporting dogs to Hawaii, I am well-versed in the state's entry process and can help guide you through the requirements. While pet owners are ultimately responsible for ensuring all veterinary records, testing, and documentation are completed on time, I'll be right alongside you to help keep everything on track so your pet has the smoothest trip possible.

I'm based in beautiful San Diego, California, where you'll usually find me hiking with Lulu and Liko, checking on Franklin's latest slow-motion adventure across the backyard, or planning my next flight. I started this business because I believe pets are family — and family doesn't fly in the cargo hold.
